Biography
Kevin Melvin is the Vice President of Clinical Operations of Abcentra. He joined Abcentra in November 2023. Mr. Melvin brings decades of experience in running Cardio-metabolic Clinical trials. His previous role was Vice President and Global Head of Operational Strategy & Planning (OS&P) for Fortrea, the clinical CRO spin out from LabCorp. Prior to that role, Mr. Melvin was the Executive Director of OS&P for Cardiovascular, Metabolic, Endocrine and Renal (CVMER) within Labcorp. Mr. Melvin’s 30+ year career started with a 5 year tenure in toxicology, before moving to Covance to transition to clinical research. At Covance, over 25 years he held positions with increasing responsibility including Clinical Operations, Project Management, Early Clinical Development and then Operational Strategy & Planning.
Mr. Melvin holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Animal Science from Rutgers University. He also hold a Certified Project Manager certificate from the Project Management Leadership Group.
